Summary[]

Yami gives Kaiba the chip Rafael gave him, getting the location of Dartz's lair. However, the US military flies up to the KC copter, explaining they'll take them to Dartz. Yami is understandably angry for the wasted effort. Rafael emerges from the rubble slightly battered.

After some pointless dialogue with the military, the heroes arrive at Dartz's lair, a knockoff of the Chamber of Secrets. Finding the room holding the souls of the Orichalcos victims, Dartz appears; Yami and Kaiba challenge him to a duel. Dartz uses the Orichalcos to show his past, which Yami realizes is idiotic; despite the Orichalcos causing all of Atlantis to quite literally go to hell, Dartz believed humanity was evil and needed destroyed.

Kaiba loses, leaving Yami to be manipulated by Dartz's words. After being reminded of how cruel he's been to his friends, Yami renews his faith in friendship. He calls on the Legendary Knights to slay the Cornelius the Great Snake, causing Dartz to lose and Yugi, Joey and Kaiba get their souls back. However, Dartz is still out there and needs to be defeated in a children's card game.

Quotes[]

So, let me get this straight. You lived in a nice place. Some rocks fell there. Place wasn't so nice anymore. And now you're trying to destroy the world?"
"Y'all forgetting the furry part, which was pretty horrible. But yeah."
"Remember how in Infinity War, what Thanos was doing kinda made sense? Yeah. This is the exact opposite.

—The Pharaoh points out the idiocy in Dartz's plan

No, Rafael! Don't try understanding the season, it will drive you insane!"
"Uh, what? Sorry, Pharaoh; i was listening to Dartz."
(Stops caring) "Well I tried.

—Pharaoh and Rafael

I am he who is known as Sir Timaeus. But there are those who call me Tim."
"I am Sir Critias. And my mom says i look just like a dragon in this armor."
"I am Sir Hermos. And i am the knight who says "nyeh".
"And together we are the Legendary Knights of Atlantis!

—The Legendary Knights

WHAT!? How can you out bullsh*t the bullsh*t i bring to you with the Orichalcos!?"
"How? With the love my friends give me every day. Whether I'm worthy of that love or not.

—Yami pulls a 180 on Dartz

Trivia[]

  • This is the longest episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series to date.
  • Yami understandably yells in frustration when the military escorts them to Dartz's lair, making going to Paradius HQ and getting the chip with the location from Rafael pointless.
  • Rafael's soul is taken by the Orichalcos after he's driven insane by the absurdity of Dartz being somehow responsible for the misfortune of the Three Swordsmen.
  • Dartz makes legit digs at Yami's character, instead of using lies to manipulate him like in the original version.
  • Dartz admits that his memory ain't that good, having said he truly doesn't know about Yami's time in Egypt.
    • He also cannot remember Ironheart and Chris. Though it may be an act to avoid questions.
  • Yami points out the flaw in Dartz's origin story: Atlantis was fine until the Orichalcos showed up

Cultural References[]

  • The episode title is a reference to the Tabletop RPG meme "Rocks fall, everyone dies", where an annoyed Game Master decides to suddenly kill all Player Characters.
