- Kuriboh talks like Action Hotdog from Perfect Hair Forever.
- Gangsley saying "It's a double rainbow!" is a reference to the viral video "Yosemitebear Mountain Giant Double Rainbow 1-8-10"
- When Yugi summons "Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight", the song "Always" by Erasure plays. Both it and Gaia are references to the game Robot Unicorn Attack.

- Téa asks if she landed on Tatooine, a planet in the Star Wars universe.
- When Duke and Tristan tear down the wall of the castle, Tristan's phrase "Here's Johnny" is a reference to The Shining, where in a similar scene the character played by Jack Nicholson tears down the door of a bathroom with an axe.
- The stinger is Howard Dean's Iowa concession speech from 2004.
- The song that plays while Téa is being chased by the trolls is the Star Trek fight music from the episode Amok Time.
- Yugi saying that he spoke with a British accent in episode 6 references at the beginning of the actual episode, LittleKuriboh does let his British accent slip through a bit which was pointed out by many fans.
- LittleKuriboh made a tiny "Elemental Hero" reference when Young Seto and Young Mokuba were playing chess.
