Cliffhanger is the seventh episode of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, and is also the seventh episode of the first season. This episode abridges the events around Yugi's duel with "Kaiba's Ghost", while Kaiba managed to return to the program. The episode's opening and overall theme parodies drama series, and how they rely in several cliffhanger plots.

Summary

Episode's synopsis: "Yugi doesn't stand a ghost of a chance against his next opponent!"

The episode picks up where the last one ended, with Yugi about to duel Kaiba's Ghost in order to rescue Mokuba. Everybody questions whether Yugi's opponent is really a ghost, except for Tristan, who believes so. Kaiba's Ghost attempts to prove himself using the Hitotsu-Me Giant, one of Kaiba's common cards, but it doesn't convince Yami. When the ghost demands to be recognized, Yami claims "if you're a ghost then I'm straight".

Meanwhile, the real Kaiba narrates how he managed to climb up the cliff he fell off in the past episode while holding a briefcase in one hand. He then goes "into the Kaiba-Cave" in order to gain access to Pegasus' computer system with his advanced and "inappropiately voiced" computer. He manages to gain access with his l33t haxxor skills, but is foiled by the Blue Screen of Death.

Back in the duel, Yami complains that Kaiba's Ghost uses the line "you don't stand a ghost of a chance" too much. This is followed by an interruption from LittleKuriboh, who shows three different moments from the original dub to illustrate his point. Mokuba tries to defend his brother's reputation, but it put down by Yami.

Back at the Kaiba-Cave, Seto decides to send a virus into the computer system to help Yugi win the duel. This reveals the opponent of Yami being "some kind of... gay clown, apparently"a gay clown. The clown tries to explain he is Seto's evil side brought back from the Shadow Realm by Pegasus, but this is even less convincing to Yami, who finally kills him with a mind crush.

All characters have a final laugh at the phrase "you don't stand a ghost of a chance" before noticing Mokuba is gone.
